The State of
Guanajuato has a wide range of opportunities for fun and entertainment
for adults, young people and children alike. There are numerous bars and
discos of national and even international renown providing for both young
visitors and locals, who can also take part in the famous "San Miguelada"
(based on the Pamplonada "running of the bulls"). For families
with younger children, there are endless activities, ranging from zoos
to museums such as the Explora Interactive Science Park and the Alhóndiga
de Granaditas (local history), to the Metropolitan Park with its cycle
lanes and scale model of León, as well as bowling alleys, water parks
and skating rinks. For Moms and Dads, we have world-famous art galleries
and museums, professional golf courses and spas for hydrotherapy or relaxation.
The state also stages a number of important festivals and celebrations.
All over Guanajuato, towns hold local religious and historical fiestas
that give us an insight into popular folklore and practices. Also, visitors
can enjoy the Cervantes International Arts Festival, the San Miguel de
Allende Chamber Music and Jazz festivals, the Short Film Festival, or
the State Fair, held every January in León.
